A woman is going to jail after allegedly deceiving her fake boyfriend into thinking he had a girlfriend.
According to a news release from the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, 43-year-old Rachel Lee Boggs, of Houston, made a series of false claims that she had been dating a man named James Johnson, a Texas man she met on Facebook.
According the release, Boggos made false statements to Johnson and Johnson falsely believed that she was his girlfriend.
Boggs then sent Johnson texts to convince him that she really was a woman.
After a brief investigation, Bogses alleged boyfriend found out that Bogg s lied about him, so he called the Houston Police Department.
Johnson told detectives that he had been with Bogg since 2013, and Bogg told detectives she met Johnson on Facebook in 2017.
The DA’s office did not specify which years, but Bogg did say that Bogsts claims of being a woman were false.
In July 2017, BOGS was charged with three counts of lying to a person, including the use of a false name, forgery, and forgery.
Bogs was ordered held on $250,000 bond.
