Posted November 04, 2018 08:14:38 A former staffer of former NFL coach Todd Haley has resigned after the New York Daily News revealed he made a salary of more than $80,000 during his tenure at the school.
The resignation comes just weeks after the school’s Board of Trustees voted to oust Haley from his position as the schools vice chancellor.
Tiffin was the school district’s athletics director and was a longtime assistant coach under Haley.
Tuffin, who had a job at the University of California, Berkeley, for the past two years, was hired by the Tuscaloosa university in the spring of 2018.
The school’s athletics department has been struggling since Haley left.
In July, the TUF 19 Finale aired on Spike TV and the NCAA ruled the school had violated the NCAA’s anti-bias and diversity rules in its hiring process.
Tufin was also a co-author of the Tuffins book, “The Tuffinator,” which he co-authored with Haley.
The TUF 20 Finale will air on Spike, Spike TV, FX and HBO.
Tiffin had been a contributor to The Tuscatoan, which was part of the local sports publication.
The newspaper’s parent company, New York’s WCBS-TV, is owned by the family of billionaire and Trump supporter John Catsimatidis.
The paper is owned and operated by the Catsimatis, who have given $10 million to the school, according to the Daily News.
